The more traditional size is the olympic triathlon which consists of a .93 mile swim, a 24.8 mile bike ride, and a 6.2 mile run. The smallest of the three is called a sprint which consists of a .47 mile swim, followed by a 12.4 mile bike, and a 3.1 mile run. Sprints have become widely popular across the United States.
