Dealing With A Neighbor Who Does Not Mow Their Lawn

If you live in even a decently-nice neighborhood, it is generally an unwritten rule of the neighborhood that everyone makes sure their lawn looks presentable. After all, the value of houses in a neighborhood is largely dependent upon the way things look, and a shabby, overgrown lawn can make things look poor. And what's more, if one of your neighbors whose house you are stuck looking at all the time does not mow their lawn, it can be downright annoying! And so the question becomes, what is the best, most effective approach for getting your neighbor to mow their lawn?

One of the first things you will need to make sure you know is whether the residents of the house in question own the house or rent the house. Even though it can be much more likely for the lawn of a rental house to get overgrown, it is also much easier to turn things around. Generally speaking, you can get the owner of the house to take care of this problem; get in touch with them and let them know that the lawn of their rental house is usually overgrown, and they will exert pressure. This will solve the problem quickly and effectively, as it will be the landlord telling them to mow, instead of a neighbor asking.

If, on the other hand, the people who live in the house are the owners, you should take the time to notice what the condition of the rest of their house is like. For those homeowners who keep the rest of their house in good condition, you can usually solve the problem simply by asking them. If, on the other hand, the people who live in the house seem to neglect all aspects of their home, you might find that you are stuck mowing their lawn yourself! Either that, or pay the person you pay for your lawn to also go over and mow that lawn! Usually, one time of doing this will be enough to get them to start taking better care of it themselves.

It is especially important that you keep these tips in mind if you are selling your house; you will have a much easier time selling your own house if all the houses around it look good!
